We consider early-stage Web3 startups building on the Filecoin ecosystem with compelling FVM use cases. In terms of FVM use cases, we are particularly interested in following mechanisms:
- DataDAOs: Introduce collective governance that we usually see in DAOs to manage and tokenize various datasets that are being stored on the Filecoin network
- Compute Over Data: Enable complex computation and activities over data stored on Filecoin in a decentralized manner
- Content Delivery Network: Manage the distribution and delivery of content autonomously on the edges of the network via
- FVM Perpetual Storage: Run autonomous and permissionless code to guarantee the continuation and renewal of storage
- New Storage Market Primitives: Create storage bounties, auction mechanisms, discounts, rebates, price options and other primitives that would both benefit the experience of storage providers and data producers
- Replication and Repair Workers: Automate the process of replicating data multiple times across the network, and repairing data in the case of faults or expirations
Startups ideally have full-time cofounders (or in the process of becoming full-time) with a well thought out problem statement and solution or whitepaper and idea. A prototype or MVP is ideal but not required to be considered. Typically we consider startups that have not yet gone through any rounds of fundraising, as we are usually the first check and our investment terms are standard
